Greetings!

I am not sure what I am going to do with this blog just yet….I may post  some original short stories, comment on politics, review some products, or even tell you about some cool places to see in my adopted home of Phoenix Arizona.  Of course, my homeland is the midwest, not actually Scandinavia, but that’s okay.  I am of Viking blood, and proud of the heritage, although the norwegians, they can keep the lutefisk!

For those of you who don’t know, I have made a couple of scandinavian references….

”allthing” is an ancient concept of a kind of Court of free men in Viking society.  It was a court of law, and a legislative body.  It developed into a major social event held yearly where all the big questions of the day were answered.

Secondly, “wassail” is an aberration of an ancient greeting used by both anglo-saxons and scandinavians.  It is a greeting that means good health, and evolved into a concept of eating, drinking, and making merry at essentially every home on the block.  It is an endearing concept the scandinavians have left for us-the idea of making merry with your neighbors, despite their differences, as neighbors have likely always had down through time.  Let it be our greeting here, let it be our symbol that all here are welcome who enter with good will and good thoughts for others.  Wassail!

Mike Huckabee for president?

I am curious what many of you think about this candidate.  He has become my early darkhorse, and I am curious what you think, especially those of you who are democrats. I am a very centrist republican, but I have a found a candidate that while I don’t agree with him on everything- he might be a little more socially conservative than I would like- but he doesn’t seem like he rubs your face in it.  He seems like the kind of flawed but redeemed person who many of us look up to, because he is not an all-powerfull, perfect human being, nor does he try to be.  Here is a guy who lost a couple hundred pounds, and now preaches healthy eating.   To me he is a breath of fresh air in an otherwise rancor-filled race.  Any thoughts out there about the guy?

I would like to hear what anyone has to say, but I would especially like to hear what democrats who are naturally opposed to such a candidate have to say.
